Counselling

I understand that finding the right therapist can feel confusing, especially when you are feeling at your most vulnerable. I have a warm caring, mindful approach and my aim is to walk along side you as we work together to find a way forward that is best for you. My aim is to create a place where you are given the space to reflect and explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe and non-judgemental environment.

I am an Integrative Counsellor which means I can tailor your therapy to meet your particular needs as an individual and the problems you encounter. I utilise Psychodynamic skills to help identify patterns in your life which are hindering everyday living, Person Centred skills to help reinforce a sense of self and personal confidence and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to find solutions to particular problems and help with coping mechanisms. I offer both long and short term counselling, but ultimately the length of time you spend in therapy is your choice.

My knowledge and skills have developed through my work in private practise, as a counsellor at a mental health charity, family centre and working within education. This has bought me in contact with individuals experiencing various issues such as anxiety, stress, depression , drink and drug related addictions, as well as diagnosed issues such as PTSD, bi-polar and OCD.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling Practitioners, and as such I am bound by their Ethical Code of Practise.
